Available as an appliance or server software solution, it features application filtering for peer-to-peer traffic control; bandwidth management; IP policing; caching; and compression. The expansion of IP networking is eliminating the distinction between enterprise and service provider network requirements. Increasingly, enterprises are providing services similar to service providers and service providers are more frequently acting as an extension of corporate networks.
