Cisco Replaces Zuora with LogiSense

The Customer

HEADQUARTERS: San Jose, CA, USA
EMPLOYEES: 35,000+
INDUSTRY: Telecommunications
TYPE: Public (NASDAQ: CSCO)
SERVICES: Unified Communications, UCaaS, VoIP, and cloud communications and collaboration.

Located in the heart of the Silicon Valley, Cisco Systems is a developer and manufacturer of telecom equipment, networking hardware, and other high-tech products and services with over 35,000 employees in 115 countries. Cisco’s acquisition of BroadSoft has rapidly accelerated the company’s cloud strategy and collaboration portfolio by adding the industry's leading cloud calling and contact center solutions to its portfolio.

The Challenge

Cisco desired greater autonomy for go-to-market and product changes as well as better automation and consolidation of invoicing systems. LogiSense’s main challenge was to offer a billing and mediation platform capable of handling complex usage and high-volume-processing for BroadCloud as well as other Cisco communication products. The challenge was to migrate away from simple subscription processing and manual usage calculations; improving accuracy, automating processes and simplifying delivery.

The Solution

BroadSoft implemented the LogiSense Billing Platform into their BroadCloud offering in order to provide rating capabilities, data mediation and a meaningful acceleration in time-to-market. LogiSense delivered the pricing-flexibility, bundling, tiering, and share plan management needed to reduce inefficiencies, consolidate invoicing systems, automate manual processes as well as expedite time to market. In addition, BroadSoft is now able to offer bill-on-behalf (white label) billing solutions to service provider partners to help accelerate their go-to-market speed via the LogiSense Billing Platform.

The Results

The LogiSense Billing Platform enabled Cisco Systems to become self-reliant, allowing them to build integrations with minimal assistance more quickly and efficiently. The Cisco team is no longer required to manually process usage related charges. All BroadSoft SaaS communication platforms are processed and billed through a single invoicing system, which also provides real time access to billing information and calculations, including estimation of taxes and charges. Cisco was further able to consolidate the number of billing solutions in place with one world-class billing, rating and mediation platform; replacing Zuora with LogiSense Billing.
