Enhancement Of The Month – BillSoft Tax Exemption – New Option For ALL

I need to print only a specific list of invoices at a time and I need them sorted, how can this be accomplished?

With the new print tool, you can fully filter and sort the invoices that sit in your print queue in EngageIP.  To do this, start the print tool, then click the ‘Filter’ button, once your invoices are filtered, you can click ‘Start Printing’. For more information, see KB Article #56

Role Based Password Security

Securing EngageIP should be your first priority since all customer data is potentially accessible via the adminportal interface – with the exception of credit card numbers which are not viewable through the interface in accordance with PCI compliance.  Adminportal passwords however is a major piece of the security puzzle so hardening them is one way to increase your overall security. To ensure  your system passwords are secure for the adminportal, configure the roles in your system to enforce strong password rules including alpha-numeric passwords, password history restrictions and minimum password lengths. For more information, see KB Article #276

Have you checked your maintenance plan lately?

The first step to performance, security and disaster recovery is to have a good maintenance plan in place in MSSQL. You should be regularly checking that the maintenance plan is processing its jobs successfully and for example the backup location is not out of space, that the plan is purging old data as configured and that no errors are showing up in the log reports. For more information on using MSSQL maintenance plans, see  KB Article #40

BillSoft Exemption – New Option For All

How can I reconcile usage summaries on an invoice ?

The best method to reconcile the telecom usage summaries such as minute buckets, used minutes etc, are through the use of the existing reports such as CDR History on your reports tab. With a little filtering, sorting and grouping, you can locate the numbers as shown on the invoice. For some tips and examples here, see KB Article #424

64bit Operating System Ready and Running

EngageIP Billing is fully 64bit aware and able, there are in fact several installations running on 64bit hardware and this helps to significantly improve performance, efficiency and overall processes. For details on installing EngageIP Billing in a 64bit environment, please see KB Article  #423

Watching Tickets

Want to keep track of tickets in your system as a support manager or simply to keep track of tickets related to a particular account you’re tracking? To receive emails and see a ticket you didn’t create in your tickets list, you can use the ‘Watch this ticket’ button along the top of an existing ticket. Using this, you’ll receive notification emails when its updated and you will continue to see the ticket in your tickets list.

For more information, please see KB Article #79

Genband Sync Tool Optimizations for Speed

The Genband sync tool has been updated to allow for greater efficiency and speed. The tool now processes data in significantly less time by minimizing the authentication overhead that previously existed in the tool. If you’re running the sync process nightly, this update is strongly encouraged when running EngageIP with a version less then 8.2.5.0. To see what version you have installed, go to your top owner, and then click ‘configuration’ in the top right corner.

How can I let customers know that their tickets are important and that they are actively being reviewed?

Among the ways to keep customers informed of the status and location of their tickets is to use ticket escalation rules.EngageIP can be configured to escalate tickets if no response or resolution has been made after x number of minutes, hours or days and email both the customer and a support representative so that both know that there is a ticket awaiting resolution. The procedures notifies the customer so that the know what is happening with their ticket and feel confident that adequate attention is being given to it. For more details, see  KB Article #78

Invoice Templates: CDR Data Options

Invoice templates now include check box options to allow for the dynamic inclusion (if the XML code is already in the template) of the various CDR related data sets. These include: minute buckets, CDR summaries, zero dollar CDRs etc. To review, click on the setup tab of the owner you wish to edit, then click ‘Invoice Templates’, and select a template to see all the options.
