Feature Of The Month – Mass updating of next bill dates

Tip Of The Month – Role Security – Have you updated / reviewed yours lately?

Enhancement Of The Month – Price Plans – Automation of Price Overrides

How does advance billing work in EngageIP?

There are two types of advance billing in EngageIP, one allows you to bill out a prorated value for a service newly added and its full next month fee on the same invoice. This option is on services and is described in KB article #329.

The second advance billing type is where you want to invoice customers 10 days in advance of their billing date so that they receive their invoice prior to their service period starting. This type is described in KB article #361 and is set on the customers bill group.

Mass Updating of Next Bill Dates

As of the latest release (8.2.7.5) you now have the option to update next bill dates across multiple sub accounts from the parent account. This option is on the tools tab and allows you to select the accounts and next bill dates you wish to update and bulk edit them. This is a great option when you have more than 5 or 10 sub accounts that you need to adjust bill dates on. See KB article #464 for more information

Role Security – Have you updated / reviewed yours lately?

It is recommended that you regularly perform security audits on EngageIP and your network surrounding EngageIP. You should have a scheduled plan in place to review these, whether it be monthly or even weekly. To ensure that your EngageIP is secure, please review your role security configuration. Role security is outlined in KB article #276 and some example configuration on how to handle employee turn over is located in KB article #429

Price Plan – Automation of Price Overrides

Price Plans allow you to apply price overrides across multiple accounts without the need to go to each individual account and package to apply a discount. For detail on this, please see KB article #465

Question Of The Month – How can I find out WHEN  a package was created / added to a customer?

Feature Of The Month – Webservices and API

Tip Of The Month – Need To Open An Invoice Again?

Enhancement Of The Month – New Credit Rating Email Tokens Available For Balance Due

How can I find out WHEN a package was created / added to a customer?

We have added the ‘created date’ to the packages list so at a glance you can see when a package was added without needed to sift through the event log for such information. This is great when applying contracts or just to get an idea for the time period in which a customer has billed

Webservices and API

A great way to extend EngageIP and even to create your own backend software for it is to use our API methods. For more detail on using this for your own programs or to customize the customerportal, please see KB article #73

Need To Open An Invoice Again?

You now have the ability to open an invoice even if it has been sent to the customer. Only when an invoice is open can transactions be added to it or adjusted. This functionality should only be available to administrators or managers to avoid having many invoices that have been sent to the customer already and being updated.

New Credit Rating Email Token For Balance Due

There are now three new balance tokens to be placed in emails primarily for credit rating emails but are also available to regular canned emails. For more information, please see KB Article #242

The batch payments screen has been updated to provide multiple confirmation items when adding batch payments. When you search for a user, you now have a list of invoices to confirm payment on and the first name and last name will be displayed for extra confirmation. In addition, you can now provide a list of invoices that you wish the payment to be disbursed to all on one screen. For more detail on how to use this, see KB Article #432
